An international group of firefighters based in British Columbia, Canada and California organized

as "Firefighters to Bomberos" travel to under developed and developing nations to provide training

and deliver donated equipment. The California chapter is headed by San Rafael Firefighter/Paramedic

Angel Landaverde. In 2016 FF/P Landaverde mentioned that a group was about to leave for Peru and

Guatemala for a month. I managed to hijack a place to accompany the team and document their work.

The story of that trip is here:  Firefighters2Bomberos

During my years as a Fire Commissioner and Fire Investigator, both volunteer positions, I had

the opportunity to participate as a staff member is a couple of training programs that were

interesting, challenging, and rewarding. One of these is a national program training firefighters

and others in the application of prescribed fire. The program is called TREX for Training Exchange.

My three years were: TREX - 2013 - Rx Fire Training TREX - 2014 - Rx Fire Training

                                    TREX - 2015 - Rx Fire Training

Another training program where I was a staff member for several years was intended to train

fire investigators and police officers to recognize and understand the effects of improvised

and commercial/military explosives and explosive devices.  Advanced Explosives Recognition
